Kyle Riabko and Suzie McNeil will perform the classic anti-establishment song "Signs" at the fifth annual Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame Gala on March 1st, 2008 in Toronto.
The evening of celebration promises to be another showcase of outstanding musical talent including performances by 2008 Modern Era inductees Paul Anka and Claude Dubois.
Other performers also include Canadian siblings Martha and Rufus Wainwright, Canadian jazz vocalist Dione Taylor, gospel choir The Faith Chorale, renowned pianist Oliver Jones, reunited girl-group Toulouse, and Quebec singer Boom Desjardins.
The 2008 inductees include Alex Kramer, one of the most highly regarded songwriters of the big-band era, and Paul Anka, known for his beautiful ballads and chart-topping hits. Also inducted in 2008 are Francophone artists including the prolific songwriter André Lejeune and Claude Dubois — whose songs have been covered by French artists around the world.
The evening will also see the induction of the late Oscar Peterson. His work and its significant impact on the development and recognition of Canadian songwriters around the world will be recognized with the Frank Davies Legacy Award.
