It looks like November is going to be a productive month at Riabko headquarters. My team of employees, employers, and butlers are pouring sweat and blood into every second of this winter - making sure that you will have plenty to view and listen to over the coming months.
Although I am currently driving through the depths of the USA, with a fresh "Chili’s Cajun Chicken Burger" brewing in my little stomach, most of my news today is Canadian. Things are great down here - the shows have been tremendous, and it has been so good to see you screaming in the front row - but here’s what’s about to happen North of the border:
1. A few months ago I recorded a version of Neil Young’s "Helpless" and, to my extreme happiness, it has ended up on a brand new tribute album.
It is aptly titled, "Borrowed Tunes II: A Tribute to Neil Young"
Please, please, please - whether you are Canadian, American, European, Australian or Japanese - find a way to buy this record. It is packed full of great covers of Young’s best work by my Canadian peers.
Check it out on iTunes, or order it today!
2. On Monday, Nov. 5, I will be a panelist on the new Much More Music show, Popaganda. The episode is all about sex in music (my favorite topic), and you will be sure to hear me talking about important issues such as: Screech’s Dong, and why I think Pornography may actually prove to be a lucrative business.
They tend to re-run the shit out of these kinds of shows, but, if you can, check it out on the day it first airs.
3. I came across a wonderful new Facebook group called "I Love You, Neti Pot - And We Love You, Kyle Riabko". This may be my favorite creation that the internet has ever birthed. Please. Join the group, and spread the Neti Love.
You can call it self-pleasing, but I am a member. And I am proud of it.
There you have it! A lot of new stuff to check out.
I’ll be adding a few new tour dates in the near future, so keep checking back.
And, just for the hell of it, I have added a new demo to my MySpace playlist. It’s called "Looking for You", and I hope you enjoy it.
Love,
Kyle
